Welcome to shoppinggorilla.com — the ultimate Amazon.com deal reference website tool!
Amazon.com isn’t an ordinary store. It isn’t even an ordinary online store. In
fact, in many ways, it isn’t a store at all. It’s an internet-based cornucopia of
shopping and selling delights! At Amazon, you can buy just about any book in
the Library of Congress. You can get movie show times for your local theater.
You can list your independently produced CD. You can auction off a vintage
rocking chair. You can research, find, discover, buy, or sell just about anything.
It’s truly an amazing place But to make the most of what Amazon has to offer, you have to know how to use the site and, perhaps more important, you actually
have to know what Amazon has to offer. That’s where this website comes in.
This website is a comprehensive accumulation of current deal opportunities that are available at Amazon.com at any moment in time. Even if you’ve already shopped there, you can use website as handy quick deal guide to the site. As a deal travel guide you might say.
Here follow 10 basic Amazon.com deal tips:
1. The Outlet
Did you know that Amazon has an outlet? It’s true, and you don’t have to
drive to the middle of nowhere to get there. (And they don’t have racks and
racks of weird colors and size zeroes.) It’s a
collection of everything in the store that’s on clearance — plus you can link
to the refurbished items and the Friday sale from the Outlet subnav.
2. Striking Gold in Your Gold Box
Have you ever noticed the sparkly golden goodness in the upper-right corner
of every page? If you’ve got an Amazon account, that box even bears your
name.
Your Gold Box is like your own personal bargain stash. It’s filled with ten
good deals on items chosen according to your shopping history. The deals change changes every day.
3. Bottom of the Page
There are
good deals to be found at the bottom of the page — every page. Fittingly
enough, they’re called “Bottom of the Page Deals” and they change every day.
4. Super Saver Shipping
If you’ve got time, and you’re spending more than $25, you can save money
with Super Saver Shipping. Super Saver Shipping is Amazon’s way of helping
you save money and giving themselves a little extra time to ship your stuff.
Here’s how it works:
1. Find more than $25 worth of eligible stuff that you want to buy.
This can be one item or several, but make sure all items are eligible for
Super Saver Shipping. You’ll know because they’re marked with the little
shopping-cart icon.
2. Put the products you want in your Shopping Cart by clicking the Add
To Shopping Cart button on their detail pages.
This is important. You don’t get Super Saver Shipping automatically— you select it during the checkout process. There is a way to get it with
1-Click, but it’s actually more complicated than just buying with the shopping
cart.
3. After you’ve added your last item, click Proceed To Checkout.
You come to a Sign In screen.
4. Enter your e-mail address and password in the fields provided and
click that secure server button.
You come to your Order Review page. Notice that you have several
choices for shipping (as shown in Figure 20-4). To get Super Saver
Shipping, you must ship your items to a single U.S. address.
5. Click the Super Saver Shipping circle to select that as your shipping
speed.
Your order will take, on average, about 3 to 5 days longer to ship. So if
you’re in a hurry, Super Saver Shipping is not for you. (Hey, either it’s
time or it’s money.)
6. Click Place Your Order.
5. Amazon.com Credit Card
The Amazon.com Platinum Visa is like a frequent flyer miles card, but for
shopping. . Here’s the deal: You get 3 points for every dollar spent at Amazon.com, and 1 point for
every dollar spent anywhere else. For every 2,500 points you get, you get $25 to spend at Amazon.com.
Plus, there’s no annual fee. If you want to apply, just go to the Store Directory
(by clicking See More Stores) and click on the Amazon.com Visa Card link
under Services heading. Like all things Amazon, you apply online.
6. Better Together
This is sort of like twofers on the Web. Maybe you’ve noticed it on the detail
pages of certain items. Amazon will offer up
another recommended item and you can buy them both at a discount.
Sometimes the discount isn’t much, but sometimes you luck out.
7. Today’s Deals
Today’s Deals mean that every day at Amazon.com is a sale day. (Music to
the ears of us bargain hunters.) There’s a general Today’s Deals area, and
then most individual stores have their own daily deals.
You can access the general area most easily by clicking on Today’s Deals in
the subnav of the Welcome page. You’ll find deals for most of the different
product lines that Amazon sells, plus you can access all of the goodies they
advertise in the Sunday circular (of the newspaper, that is).
8. Friday Sale
Every Friday, Amazon has a special sale with extra special discounts. But
only on Friday. You can access the Friday Sale from the subnav in the Outlet
(and you can access the Outlet from the store directory).
9. Special Deals
Throughout the amazon.com websites amazon and participating merhants will periodically have special deals: spring sales, mother day sales, etc. The best way to shop for these is to be on the lookout for these as one visits the website. Alternatively, one can just shop www.shoppinggorilla.com for for these as they are all listed on the deals page.
10. Coupons, Vouchers, & Instant Discounts:
Amazon.com and various merchants offer direct product discounts. These can be found throughout the website. These usually have a time limitation. The quickest way to find these deals is to visit this site: www.shoppingorilla.com for a quick review of what is currently availble.
